Salem

Bill Tucker was born in Salem, Oregon, on May 8, 1946. He passed away on October 18, 2026.

Bill grew up with roots in the community he would always call home. He graduated from North Salem High School in 1964 and went on to attend and graduate from the University of Oregon.

Bill was a devoted husband to his wife, Dianne. He was father to Kristen, Geoff, and Sunny (Jon) and a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Alexsa.

Bill served in the Army as a photographer in Vietnam. His military service and the friendships he made while serving became an important part of his life.

As a respected businessman and entrepreneur, Bill founded Landmark Mortgage with his business partner Curt in 1983. Bill genuinely cared about the people who worked alongside him and took great pride in the company they built together. The company’s memorable Christmas parties became a cherished tradition and reflected the camaraderie and relationships that meant so much to him.

Outside of work, Bill was a lifelong fishing and hunting enthusiast. He especially treasured the annual hunting trips to a secret spot in Eastern Oregon with long time friends.

Bill maintained lifelong relationships with childhood friends. Through his family, his military service, his years at Landmark Mortgage, his life long friendships, Bill created memories that will continue to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Bill will be deeply missed.
