Salem

Tanya May Eastman, born on October 19, 1966, in Eugene, Oregon, passed away on May 16th after a valiant battle with an aggressive cancer. She was raised as a true Oregonian, spending most of her childhood outdoors. Tanya’s love for reading was truly remarkable; she couldn’t get enough of books, particularly mysteries, historical fiction, and nonfiction.

Tanya had three children from her first marriage: Patrick, her only son, whom she cherished throughout her life; Celeste, her eldest daughter, who inherited her passion for cooking, gardening, and books; and Peri, her youngest daughter, whom she raised to be a wonderful mother, homemaker, and gentle spirit.

Tanya was blessed with 20 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Jim Eastman. Together, they expanded their family to include six children: Tanya’s three and Jim’s three: Ethan, Ben, and Kelsi. They raised their children on their farm in Salem, enjoying a peaceful farm life tending to their cows, chickens, and various animals.

Beyond her family, Tanya’s responsibilities extended beyond her children and farm animals. She also ran an at-home daycare, taking children on exciting adventures such as hiking, museum visits, weekly library trips, and much more. Over her life, she had the privilege of caring for nearly 200 children and providing support to their parents during the challenges of raising children.

Tanya’s legacy will live on in our hearts forever. She has joined her father and grandparents in heaven and will continue to watch over her children and grandchildren for years to come.
