Merry Lee Beagle Gamble, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 91 years of age. She was born August 16, 1934, in Eugene, Oregon, to the late Orville and Vita Beagle.
Merry Lee and her late husband, Bernard Leo Gamble founded Gamble farms in Junction City, Oregon in 1968, where they raised chickens and lived for 56 years.
Merry Lee lived a life rooted in love, generosity, and simple joys. Her greatest pride was her family, and she poured her heart into nurturing deep bonds with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was a haven — always open, always warm, and always filled with the comforting aroma of freshly baked treats and a pot of tea ready for anyone who stopped by.
A gifted gardener, Merry Lee found joy in coaxing beauty and bounty from the earth. Her flower beds bloomed with color, and her vegetable gardens and orchard yielded harvests she lovingly preserved to share with others. Her pantry was a testament to her care and skill — jars of jams, vegetables and fruits, each one a labor of love.
Merry Lee was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Bernard Leo Gamble and her son, Craig Leo Gamble. She is survived by her daughters, Lorene Gamble Flewellen and Gayla Gamble Andresen (Gordon), four grandchildren, Caitlin Flewellen (Davy Crocket II), Tyson Flewellen (Samantha Webb), Danica Galindo (Joel Galindo), and Jake Andresen, and four great grandchildren, Daniel Galindo, Liliana Galindo, Evelyn Crockett and Davy Crockett III. Merry Lee was one of eight children, and is survived by her brothers, Wyman Beagle (Edna) and Robin Beagle, and her sister, Quita Beagle.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later time. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made in Merry Lee’s honor, be given to either the Salem, Oregon Fire Department who helped on a number of occasions or to The Crane Center, a school she followed in Uganda www.thecranecentre.org.
