Louis was born in Salem, Oregon to a military father and homemaker mother. The family moved to California shortly after his birth, and he spent the first 13 years of his life living in several towns including Fallbrook, Vista, Hinkley, Oakland, and Oceanside, due to his father's military service and deployment to Vietnam.
Louis life did not come easy to him, as his home life was fraught with dysfunction and abuse. He contracted encephalitis meningitis at the age of 11, and Doctors considered his survival a miracle. In spite of all he endured, he remained a kind, gentle and loving human. And he was a wonderful brother. He was humbled by the kindness of others
Louis was a curious child and was fascinated by how things worked. He would take alarm clocks apart just to see if he could put them back together. He always figured it out, and they always still worked properly-even when there were "spare" parts left over. He learned to play the guitar on his own, was an awesome artist and could make something fabulous out of anything, including gum wrappers!! He made intricate bead and macramé creations, and was truly gifted.
The family moved to Oregon in May of 1969, where he grew up and remained until his passing in Lebanon, Oregon. Louis was proud to serve in the US Navy, and he considered it one of his greatest accomplishments. He served on the USS Ogden as a boiler tech, and was grateful to have visited the Philippines and Tokyo during his tenure. He left the service with an Honorable discharge.
Louis would want you to know, although he made many mistakes in his lifetime, he accepted responsibility, he paid his dues, he learned from the mistakes and he always strived to be a better human. Louis is preceded in Death by his Daughter Shana, His Sister Louise and his parents. He is survived by his beloved sister Leona, brother-in-law Larry, Niece Nikki and her family and Nephew Greg and his family, along with numerous other relatives.
In The End, He Knew He Was Loved
