Lori "Loryl" Schmelebeck, a vibrant and cherished soul, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Salem,

Oregon, at the age of 63. Born on October 8, 1962, in Missoula, Montana, Lori brought light and

joy to all who knew her throughout her remarkable life.

Lori graduated from Sprague High School in 1981 and carried with her a zest for life that was

evident to everyone she encountered. She was a truly unique individual whose magnetic

personality drew people to her effortlessly. Lori had an extraordinary ability to form deep

connections with family and friends, always prioritizing relationships over material pursuits.

Her life was not defined by a career but by the joy she found in living fully and authentically.

A woman of many passions, Lori delighted in collecting items that caught her eye or held

potential value. She found immense happiness in spending time along the Oregon coast and

cherished her visits back to Montana to visit with family. Her love for life extended to her faith;

Lori accepted Christ as her Savior and is now remembered as a special angel welcomed into

Heaven.

Lori's battle with breast cancer was fought with incredible courage and determination. Even

during challenging times, she remained steadfast in spreading happiness and uplifting those

around her. Her ability to "kick up her heels" and bring joy to others was a hallmark of her

character—a testament to the way she lived life on her own terms.

She is survived by her father, Ervin Schmelebeck; brothers Lonnie (Shelly), Rod (Nora), and Gary

Schmelebeck; nephew Zachary Schmelebeck; and nieces Dawn, Leigh, and Brooke.

Lori was predeceased by her beloved mother, Lelia Schmelebeck. Nephew Logan Schmelebeck.

Lori’s memory will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known her. May the

legacy of her love for life serve as an inspiration to all who carry it forward. Heaven has gained

a truly special angel.
