Kimberly “Kim” Ann Sessa, 61, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 28, 1963, in Merced, California, and raised in Clovis, California. Kim was the youngest of three daughters to Eli Puglizevich Jr. and Cecile McIntyre. Proudly 100% Yugoslavian, she was raised in a family of strong-minded, hardworking people with a gift for gardening — qualities that shaped the remarkable woman she became.
In 1985, Kim married her devoted husband, Steve, and together they began their family in Fresno, welcoming their first son, Tyler, followed by their second son, Jakob. In 1993, the family moved to Oregon, where Kim’s dedication to her loved ones was always at the heart of her life. She cherished family traditions, shared stories of her elders, and made sure her boys grew up deeply connected to their roots.
Kim’s pride and joy were her family, with her garden a close second. Known throughout her community for her lush, colorful yard and her love of birds, she found joy in nurturing beauty and life around her.
Professionally, Kim’s most notable and recent role was as an Administrative Assistant at Lancaster Village Retirement Community, where she worked for 15 years until her retirement. More than just a job, it was a calling — an opportunity to share her compassion, warmth, and generosity of spirit with residents and staff alike.
Kim leaves behind her loving husband, Steve; her sons, Tyler (Cailean) and Jakob (Emily); two grandsons Kaden and Nolan; her sisters Laura (Jim), Jill (Darin) brother Greg (Heather); and many extended family members and friends who will forever remember her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held at Salem Town Hall, September 27, 2025, at Noon with a reception to follow until 5pm, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and the beauty she brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Kim’s name to the Santiam Hospital & Clinics Foundation
