John Richard Little passed away unexpectedly at home on January 23, 2026.
Known to everyone as "Jake", he was tenacious, brutally honest, hardworking, and kind.
Jake was born April 4, 1949 to parents Don and Ann Little. He was one of 7 siblings (Terry, Tony, Geoff, Erik, Andrew, and Lisa) He grew up in the Irvington area of NE Portland and enjoyed many adventures with his siblings and friends and attending Grant High School. After high school, Jake served 4 years in the US Navy.
At age 34, Jake became a father. His son, Nathan, was the center of his life after that.
Jake moved to upstate NY in the mid 1980'S to accept employment. H fell in love with the Finger Lakes area, and for over 20 years lived on Seneca Lake. He enjoyed his time on the lake boating and helping Nathan to develop a talent for knee boarding. His life was enriched by his friendship with neighbors, the Spence and Albertalli families, who also enjoyed the simplicity of living in nature on Seneca Lake.
After retirement, Jake returned to Oregon to be close to his son, Nate.
Jake was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Ann Little and Sister Terry.
Jake did not wish for a funeral. Friends and family are planning a celebration of life for April 4, 2026 (his birthday) the location to be determined.
