Gary Wayne Clark was born May 3, 1946 in Moab, UT, he passed peacefully on April 28, 2025 with family members by his side. As a youth, in Utah, Gary was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. After leaving Utah, Gary made his way to Oregon where he met Patricia (Patty) in 1976, they married in 1977 and set about building a home for the family and he became the father to Patty’s two young sons, Brian and Jason.
Gary was a great husband and father and was deeply loved by his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting and working on an endless number of projects at his home. He was very capable and had many talents, over the years he was a locksmith and finally settled on starting a door installation company that specialized in prison, handicapped and other large doors that automatically open. He happily worked and provided for his family until he finally decided to retire in 2018. Over his years in the industry he made many friends and had an impact on countless others. He was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back without hesitating.
He adored his grandchildren and could often be seen giving them rides on the riding lawn mower, proudly watching them pick and eat the blueberries, tomatoes and cucumbers that he planted and tended to each year. He made things with them and for them and was always excited to hear about what was going on in their lives.
He is survived by his wife, Patty, his sons Brian (Tobi) and Jason (Mary Anne) and his 5 grandchildren: Kolton, Taitum, Spencer, Sawyer and Logan.
Gary was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. At his request, the family would appreciate that in lieu of flowers, any remembrances or donations go to Willamette Vital Health in honor of Gary Clark, they were integral in providing quality and respectful care that was invaluable to the family and we want others to receive this blessing as well.
