Erik Paulson, 67, of Salem Oregon, he passed away after his battle with dementia on September 2nd 2026.
Born on March 12th 1959 in Portland Oregon to Casper and Marilyn Paulson, he would go on to grow up in Independence Oregon where he would graduate from Central Highschool in 1977.
His greatest aspiration in life was to be a family man, a goal he took the first steps towards when he married the love of his life, Julie Graham, on May 9th 1981. He would complete his family with the birth of their son Elliot Graham Paulson, on November 19th 1994.
Erik enjoyed working with his hands and had a diverse career working as everything from a sheep shearer to Christmas tree farmer, bartender to forestry service worker, and finally truck driver to electrician. Though the career that brought him the most fulfilment was that of husband and father.
Through his wide variety of life experiences Erik honed a gentle compassion and respect for all people. He was a true Renaissance man, quick of wit, broad of vocabulary, and soft of speech.
He possessed a patient countenance that belied a boundless wisdom. A wisdom he often shared with all those in his life in the most profound of ways.
Erik is survived by his wife Julie, son Elliot, and siblings Karl and Sonja.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Casper and Marilyn.
