Dennis Martin Vodden, born September 13, 1946, passed away on August 17, 2026. A loving father, grandfather, and great‑grandfather, Dennis leaves behind a family who cared for him deeply: his brother, Gary; his children, Erica and Daryl; his grandchildren, Ayden and Emaly; and three great‑grandchildren who brought joy and pride to his later years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kent and Geraldine Vodden.
In 1967, Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy during the draft and served four years in Vietnam as a Gunner’s Mate in the U.S. Navy, where he was a decorated Petty Officer. He continued his service for an additional two years as a reserve officer, receiving an honorable discharge in 1973.
Throughout his life, Dennis held a variety of hardworking roles that reflected his determination and strong work ethic. He later retired to become a caregiver for his mother. He was a quiet man who never sought recognition, but those who knew him understood the depth of his loyalty and the quiet way he showed his love.
Dennis built his life and raised his family in the country, where he found peace and purpose in the outdoors. He was an outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting, fishing, and exploring the wilderness, always happiest in the mountains with open land and fresh air around him. He enjoyed farming and took great pride in gardening and growing fresh fruits and vegetables. His hard work was evident in everything he did, and those who knew him will forever remember him as a good man. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
