Brenda Faye Cooper

March 14, 1962 — October 1, 2025

Salem

With heavy hearts we share the passing of our beloved mother/ grandmother, Brenda Faye Cooper, who was born on March 14, 1962, in Billings, Montana, raised in Missoula, and spent her final years in Salem, Oregon. On October 1, 2025, she left this world, surrounded by love.

Brenda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved telling funny, heartfelt stories about her children when they were younger. Nothing brought her more pride than watching them become who they are today.

She walked through many hardships, yet her strength only made her softer, kinder, and more loving.

Brenda had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Neighborhood kids knew they could always count on a warm meal and a listening ear at her table. Friends and family looked forward to her home cooking, especially her fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

She found peace with her hands in the garden, joy in dancing, whether in the living room or to live music. and purpose in being a grandmother. As “Grandma,” she saw life through her grandchildren’s eyes, spending hours playing with them and making each one feel truly special and deeply loved.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley (Ruff) and Martin Cooper; her sisters, Tamra Rossing, Bonita Meyer, Terese Weymour, and Marta Ulrigg; and her grandchildren, Evelyn Sandberg and Namaus Sandberg.

She is survived by her sister Christine; her children, Travis Sandberg, Tyler Cooper, Briana Scheet and Emily Heuberger ; her grandchildren, Chayla Zin/Sandberg, Olivia Sandberg, Madilynn Heuberger, Rosalie Heuberger, Kaysa Haury, Karli Haury and Torin Haury, as well as many beloved nieces & nephews.

Brenda’s love, wisdom, and words of encouragement will forever echo in our hearts.

A celebration of her life will be held in Missoula, MT. We will share details through a Facebook event in the coming months.
