Andy Allen Volk

May 8, 1979 — March 15, 2026

Salem

Andy Volk, beloved husband, father, brother, and son died on March 15th at the age of 46 at Salem Hospital with his wife Lisa, son Frankie, in-laws Noe and Rosie Pineda, and many friends by his side. Along with members of the Cruz and Reed family, who were able to be in attendance.

Andy was born in Salem, Oregon and grew up throughout Salem, Silverton, Pacific City, and Hebo Oregon. He went to both Silverton and Nestucca high school where he formed many friendships. He was loyal and caring to all he felt were family.

He began working at a young age, from driving combines, subway, Radio Shack, Blockbuster video, and picking berries in the field. He spent most of his career between Batteries Plus as a salesman, tech expert, and manager. He was able to help establish locations in both Tualatin, and Corvallis. The last part of his life he worked for many years at Everfab in Aumsville, Oregon. He enjoyed working as a friend, peer, and family member to many of the staff.

Andy loved helping those around him. He was always looking for ways to make others’ lives easier or better, no matter how big or small the action was. His mind was a beautiful gift that was used in creative ways wherever he would go. He always knew facts that were weird or uncommon. He had a love for music that was indescribable. He would name off songs and who they were written by and what the song was about.

In 1997, he met his wife, Lisa at the hot spot of Subway in Keizer, Oregon. On June 5, 1997, right after his graduation from Silverton, he asked Lisa to be “his girl”. Little did he know he had already stolen her heart before this time. In December of 1997, he proposed and they were married on June 14, 1998. Andy would share anytime he was asked how long he had been married, he would say since 1997. He would tell people that all the years matter, not just the day he said, “I do.”

Andy spent many years at Centro Cristiano as a children’s church teacher, although most of the time he spent goofing off with the kids and playing soccer.

In November of 2004, Andy and Lisa had their one and only child Frankie. Andy and Frankie enjoyed going to the park, watching football, cooking (and not in a microwave), playing basketball and football. Most of all, they enjoyed a good discussion on who was right about music, sports, or other topics.

Andy had been sick for a while, the last month became the hardest with his illness. Partially due to physical pain but also suffering from depression. Andy would want those that are in the same mindset as him to seek help and not to fall into a place where loneliness takes over.

Andy is survived by his wife Lisa Pineda-Volk, son Frankie Pineda-Volk, mother-in-law, Rosie Pineda, father-in-law, Noe Pineda, brother-in-law Nathan and sister-in-law Katie Pineda, mother Kathy Page, brothers Robert and sister-in-law Estela Volk, and Gus Volk. Niece Isabella Pineda, nephews, Michael and Tobias Pineda, and Robert Volk Jr.

His memorial service will be held on April 11th, 2026, 2pm-5pm at Johnson Funeral Home (Johnson Funeral Home) located at 134 Missouri Ave S, Salem, OR 97302.

So many of you have graciously offered love and support to both Frankie and Lisa. In lieu of flowers or food, Frankie and Lisa are both attending Corban University, donations to their education would be appreciated.
